hey!
why on earth would I use a nail polish color as a title to my blog post?
well, because it is the reason I thought up a whole post!!!
OK, no eye-rolling...just yet, anyways.
This AM..or was it last night? I looked at my recently lacquered nails and scoffed at some of them being chipped already. In my frustration I said aloud: "why do I even bother with my nails when they get messed up?"
To which DH promptly answered "because I like seeing you all done up!".
Now, I am a simple type of lady...I don't wear much makeup, as a matter of fact, I am bare faced all week long...with the exception of the occasional lip gloss. But I noticed that when I do up my nails, I feel girly, and I think that's what my hubby likes. That quiet confidence a cute shade of nail polish will give a girl. Even if he doesn't say anything about said nails until I'm complaining that it doesn't last.
Before doing my nails, I felt nice enough to do up my teeny terrors' nails. My Lexi got her nails noticed by a teacher...LOL...and I can just imagine how special she felt at getting a compliment, and that her mommy had taken some time out just for her. I think it even made her think of me fondly for a moment. :)
Why NOT do something to make yourself feel spruced up? After all, you are a daughter of the King! That's the thought I had pop into my mind!!! I should take a bit of time (yes, that thing I always keep running out of...) to do a little something for myself and my daughters to say "I'm worth it", even at the risk of sounding like a L'Oreal commercial....
What do you do to make yourself feel a teensy bit special?
