Well hello, darlings!
I'm afraid my blog is being hijacked for the day. It's the blogoversary tour of Eileen from ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***, who is seriously one of my favorite people, like, ever. I love her a lot. Plus, her blog is awesome. So you should go there. After you read this post.
And well, since today is her blogoversary tour, she's stopping by Sparkles and Lightning to share how she met some of her bloggy friends! There's also an interview, which is even more exciting, if you ask me.
I kind of love Eileen.
(That's her header, up there. Isn't it pretty?)
And, well, here's Eileen!
Omg I have like literally a HUGE story that goes with this and I’m always like “I need a stamp or something to just tell everybody because it’s always the same” but it’s fun to switch it up :PSo I absolutely LOVE the Iron Fey series and also I REALLY wanted to be a singer. So, instead of deciding, “Hey, why not open up a YouTube channel?” I thought, “Hey, how about a BLOG?” My mind’s really crazy, trust me.

But leading up to that moment, Julie Kagawa was holding a contest for an ARC of The Iron Knight. I had no idea what ARCs were at the time, but Julie said, “Post your entries to your blog/Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook” I posted it to Facebook, but afterwards I pondered it, and thought why not? Maybe one day it’ll actually play a factor in me accomplishing my singing dream.
Do you write more negative or positive reviews and why?
I write more “meh” reviews because I do give out a majority of four and five stars, but I also give out a lot of three stars. It’s mostly because I know what I’m going to like in a book, and I trust the word of really close friends. Also, I usually don’t finish a book I don’t like either, and don’t write a real review. So, in the end, I’m more positive, but I’m not afraid to write a negative review, although I might feel a little badly about it because I may have gotten that book from an author looking for a positive review, but in the end, you can’t really let that get in your way because if an author or publisher is professional, they will get this.
What is one of your earliest bookish memories?
Well does a picture of me as a two-year-old “reading” the encyclopedia count? Because I don’t remember that lol. But my earliest memory would have to be reading The Twelve Dancing Princesses (the Barbie movie-to-book-adaptation version) six times in a row because I liked it so much. I guess I’ve always loved to read as a child.
If you had to change one thing about your blog, what would you change and why? Alternately, if you had to change the name of your blog, what would you change it to?
Hmm…as weird as it sounds, I don’t think I’d want to change anything, besides maybe my reviewing style very early on because it SUCKED. But even though I started out with like no followers for like half a year, and then started gaining them, but I definitely think the journey is worth it. And as for my name, somebody needs to give me a shorter title. SERIOUSLY it’s like a mini monster!
Your blog is kind of unique because it covers both music and books, which is more than awesome. What made you want to do this? Did you ever consider making two separate blogs?
Well, my initial thought was having a book blog, but I wanted to incorporate my love of music in there somewhere, and one day I just sat down and wrote my thoughts on a Taylor Swift song called “Last Kiss” which a lot of people liked. And then I started doing more, albeit sporadically, before I settled into a biweekly schedule☺
Thanks so much for stopping by, Eileen! Happy blogoversary!
Thanks for having me Annabelle and thanks! :D

And, well, here's Eileen!
How I Met My Bloggy Friends
Okay, before I start, I have to correct myself on that. I have millions of bloggy friends. I consider everybody I come into contact with who owns a blog to be my bloggy friend. It’s the way I function. However, since I don’t remember how I met most of my bloggy friends, I’m just pointing out the ones I DID remember meeting, or am un-lazy enough to dig deep enough to remember. So sorry if you’re not here I’ll be thinking of you internally while going, “How DID I meet them again?” O_O
Nikki from Fiction Freak
This one’s a really interesting one lol. So, at first, Nikki Goodreads me when she found my blog and we fangirled a bit, but I was really great friends with this other blogger who unfortunately I lost touch with, so I didn’t really talk to her that much. But that was how I was first introduced to Nikki.
THEN, when the YA Crush Tourney over at the YA Sisterhood was going on, I was tweeting recklessly about how Ash NEEDED to win over Aiden (Aiden won: I’m still really peeved about that, no matter how much I love Aiden) and Nikki must’ve saw a few crazed tweets, so then she replied, and then we devised up a really crazy scheme involving giveaways and incentives and posts and insanely weird things. But afterwards we kept talking for a little while.
And THEN I found Nikki on this thing called GChat, which a chat option on Gmail. And I randomly opened it one day and started talking with Nikki. And then after that we started tweeting more, and chatting more, and now we’re like best bloggy friends!
Annabelle from Sparkles and Lightning
HEY ANNABELLE! You might want to hear this. It’s really interesting how I remember meeting you actually lol. But, I think one day I was tweeting randomly, and then you started talking to me, and then we started talking about many weird things, and then I went onto your blog and was like, “HOLY MOTHER OF FUDGE SHE HAS SO MANY FOLLOWERS” and then I asked you how you got so many followers, and then afterwards I saw one of your awesome giveaways and followed you, and then afterwards I started talking to you a lot more with your awesome tweets in my Twitter field! (That was a boring way to meet O_O I make everything sound so boring even though it was super fun going through the process!)
Nereyda from Mostly YA Book Obsessed
Nereyda was actually somebody I met through this review group I’m apart of called YA Bound. I found her blog and saw her “introduction” and fangirled all over her about how many books she got since she consolidated her book haul pos and her introduction post. I completely was like “OMG I AM LIKE SO JEALOUS OF EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!” And then afterwards we kind of became friends slowly while corresponding by email, and ta-da! It’s also a really simple story mainly because I like to sugarcoat things like this. But whatever. I SHALL BE BORING AND PROUD.
Zoe from Bookhi
This is a VERY interesting story. So I emailed Zoe and was pretty upfront about everything. This is exactly how it went:
“OMG I LOVE YOUR BLOG! AND YOUR HEADER IS AMAZING OMGGGG! AND YOU’RE ALSO A TEEN BLOGGER LIKE ME! LET’S BE, LIKE, BEST BLOGGY FRIENDS FOREVER ’KAY?”
*hides* I’m mortified by that! It was so forward and completely weird and poor Zoe put up with me! Well, actually she went on a hiatus, so I didn’t hear from her for a while, and thought she and I weren’t REALLY bloggy friends, but when she came back off hiatus, she started commenting a lot on my blog. At first, I forgot about my really psycho email, until we actually became good bloggy friends, and I love her blog to this day!☺
Thanks for having me on Annabelle! These are just touching the surface, and I’m so sorry if I forgot anybody totally my fault but I love ALL OF YOU!☺
Isn't that fun? One of the beset things about blogging is all the awesome people you meet. Sometimes I swear my bloggy friends know me better than my actual friends who I see every day. Not even kidding here.
Then I have the really fun interview! It is seriously awesome, and you will love it.
Hi, Eileen! It’s so great to have you at Sparkles and Lightning!
It’s awesome to be here! :D *admires everything*
What is the first thing that got you started blogging? I know what it is, of course, but not everyone does!
