Blogoversary Day 3!

Well hi there, darlings! It's another day of my week-long blogoversary celebration, and I seriously could not be more excited. Cause I mean, I love doing this. Otherwise, I wouldn't be doing it.

As promised, I'm going to be listing ten more of my favorite reads today. Tomorrow we'll move on, as I have another topic planned. But for today it's about more book love!

These are more of my favorite reads from within the past year, and of course they aren't in any particular order.

Insignia (Insignia, #1) by S. J. Kincaid
Insignia was one of those books where I was forced to tell myself, Just two more chapters. Just two more chapters. And then, of course, I ended up finishing the book. Honestly, when I picked this one up, I wasn't entirely sure that I would enjoy it. I thought it might be a fun read, but nothing like what I got. This thriller was fast-paced and insane and held my interest throughout the entirety of the novel. I loved the characters, I adored the setting and the originality, and the dystopian yet realistic sci-fi U.S. it was set in was positively amazing.

Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1) by Robin LaFevers
I didn't want to give Grave Mercy a full five stars because there are only so many of those I can give out, lest they become meaningless. But I just cannot justify giving it any less than the full five stars that it absolutely deserves. Grave Mercy completely blew me away and left me absolutely breathless in the most amazing way possible. Everything about it was beautiful, from the characters to the plot to the gorgeous writing. (Dude, assassin nuns. Need I say more?)

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare
Only the second 5.00 star book I've read this year, but utterly and completely deserving. I can honestly say that I have no real complaints. Everything was beautiful, from start to finish, and I was unable to put it down even once. The cover is absolutely marvelous and made me fall in stand love, and I was not disappointed.

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
I've read almost all of Jane Austen's books. In fact, the only one I haven't read, ironically enough, is Persuasion. I'll have to read it soon, I think, to help me further appreciate this book. Still, I am of the firm belief that this book was still awesome nonetheless. I literally couldn't put it down. All I wanted to do was read this book. I was far from perfect, but it was still unbelievable awesome.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas
I completely fell in love with this book. Undoubtedly one of the best books I've ever read! Still, it had its faults, mostly which lay in one particular character and one of the most annoying love triangles I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. Still, the fact remains that I really, really, really loved this book. It was awesome and original and I would happily read it again and again and again.

False Memory (False Memory, #1) by Dan Krokos
When I started reading False Memory, I'm not sure what I expected. Maybe something formulaic, even boring. Like every other sci-fi novel out there. But if that's what I expected, that isn't nearly what I got. And that is most definitely a good thing. For one thing, it is legit and genuine scientific science fiction. To be honest, I never though that kind of thing would appeal to me. But it does. It absolutely blew me away.

I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1) by Barry Lyga
Because of my obsession with all things glittery and pink and girly, very rarely do people guess that have a thing for horror and gore. It never ceases to amaze people. Which is cool with me, because I don't like predictability. Anyway, the point here is that I absolutely loved this book. It was amazing and awesome and I was enthralled by it. Also, you cannot fully appreciate this book without slipping off the dust jacket and admiring the gory and gorgeousness of the hardback itself.

Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake
Anna Dressed in Blood was the first book I ever gave a 5.00 rating too, and it seems fitting and perfect that Girl of Nightmares also receives that same rating. Like Anna, it completely and utterly blew me away. I laughed. I cried. I did every single stupid positive cliché that you can possible think of. And I loved every single freaking moment of it. Girl of Nightmares was seriously one of the most amazing books I've ever read and could not deserve its rating anymore than it already does. It's beautiful and heart-wrenching, lovely but with a definite tragic twist. And yes, it's easily one of my all-time favorite books and one of the most amazing books I have ever ever read.

Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells
This book was totally, completely awesome. I mean, I absolutely loved it. It was a haunting and yet not completely unrealistic view of the future. The world has fallen apart, and no babies are born without dying. How does something like that not seem intriguing? And it was every bit as promising as it sounded. A fresh and new original idea was blended with some seriously epic characters to present a story like no other.

Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
Spark was very similar in many ways to its predecessor, but also markedly different. The heroine and the hero are both decidedly different from those in Storm, and the plot too is different. I loved Spark just like I loved Storm, and while it wasn't worse, it wasn't necessarily better. It really was just a bit too similar. The characters were developed even more and it was a lot of fun, but somehow it still lacks something for me.
