my one little word.

Hey again. :)

I wanted to fill you in on that one little word I chose at the beginning of the year. Yes, I am happy to say that it hasn't been a word long forgotten, it is one that I am still actively working on. Sometimes happily, sometimes dragging my feet a bit.

Now, I used that one little word on a layout I created for Feb.'s challenge over at AAM. BTW, the DT has created awesomely beautiful layouts for this challenge...why don't you go ahead and peek?

My one little word is not so little. It can be a glaringly huge and obvious word.

it's ATTITUDE.

Now, I'm not usually associated with Attitude...IRL I can be shy, quiet, pensative, smiley, etc. I wouldn't dare mouth off to anyone.

But Attitudes really start deep down, within the heart. How your heart feels and accepts things, this is how an attitude can affect you.

I can choose to change my attitudes towards everything. I can change my thoughts to go from "I can't" to "I will". I can chose to not let others' negative attitudes affect or manipulate me. I can chose to just be grateful for the blessings in my life than to stay stuck on those things that I'd perhaps want but can't have. You know, how you see the glass kind of perspective. I chose to always see the FULL of it. not what I'm missing.

This is especially important if you have kids watching and learning from you. You know how actions speak louder than words? Your actions are brought on by your attitude. By what's inside your heart.

I have 4 beautiful teenyterrors, 3 of them being girls. If they hear me speak negatively about myself, what am I teaching them? So what if I don't like what I weigh...if I work on it, show my girls that yes, mommy wasn't happy with her weight but she worked hard and met her goal, all without self degrading, my girls will learn to still appreciate themselves even if there are things they don't think are so pretty.

So, there it goes in a nutshell. I'm not only working on my weight, but I am also working on my attitude.

Along with that brought on many other changes in my life...

like my choices in TV...
eek...

but more about that later....:)

Take care! xoxo
