Once: REVIEW
Actually, this book was much better than Eve. I didn't feel the need to throw this as often, which means I only wanted to throw it about every other page. Still, not horrible. I enjoyed it more than Eve in some parts and there was definitely more action, which was nice. It had more of an actual plot, which was incredible and really enjoyable. All in all, a more solid book than Eve, although I will still need more if I am to be impressed by the next book.
THE HEROINE
EVE
I'm not going to mince words here. Eve is kind of a bitch. There were so many moments where I wanted to slap her across the face and yell at her for being an ungrateful brat. She's so selfish and self-centered and never thinks of anyone else except for herself. Even her supposed "love" for Caleb clearly stems from her own desires. I'll cover that more later. Anyway, if I thought that I disliked Eve in the first book, I had no idea what was coming. I absolutely hated her in this book and for good reasons, I think. She has no sense of caring for anyone other than herself.
THE LOVE INTEREST
CALEB
Caleb also gets even more boring. I really wanted to smack him. Does he have a freaking death wish or something? I love what love is, people. Maybe sometimes love involves risking your life—but not in stupid ways! Not in ways that are almost certain to get you killed! Come on, Caleb, know when to step back! He's kind of an idiot and I felt no love for him whatsoever. The entire book I just kind of secretly hoped he would get his death wish granted. Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious that that wasn't going to happen.
THE SUITOR
CHARLES
I didn't like Charles, but I didn't dislike him either. In fact, he was pretty much the only character in the book that I didn't mind. I even understood him, in a way. He wasn't some devilish all-bad person, as Eve would like to believe. I'm not saying that excuses everything that he does, but it does make it more understandable.
THE FATHER
I forget his name, if it was even mentioned
Actually, I didn't like him. But I also didn't hate him. I think I know why he does things the way he does, even if they're wrong.
THE FRIEND
ARDEN
She's not in the book much, but I was glad to see her back. She has way more common sense than Eve. Unfortunately, she also likes Eve, so, you know.
THE PLOT
Actually, the plot of this book was pretty good.
Well, maybe not actually god. But it actually had a plot, as opposed to Eve, which had a nonexistent plot.
Stuff actually happened. Interesting stuff was actually revealed. Moreover, there was actual stuff. I really liked it, actually.
Sure, there were still a ton of times where I was tempted to throw my ereader. And some things were still vastly too predictable. I still could see some things coming long before they came.
However, unlike Eve, Once actually had plot twists. Real, live plot twists. Things I didn't expect.
Overall, the plot of Once wasn't too shabby.
THE ROMANCE
Still too much instalove that isn't even love. Love is not being an idiot for someone else. That's called infatuation. Eve makes the most stupid and ridiculous choices based on this moronic "love" that made me frustrated and angry all at once. (See what I did there?) Anyway, the romance has not improved from Eve. If anything, it's gotten worse. I hate the so-called romance in these books. I absolutely hate it. This is the worst kind of instalove.
THE WRITING
Actually, I think Anna's writing has improved. It's hard to tell, as Eve's voice is still incredibly annoying, but if I do my best to look past that I can see that Anna has actually gotten better about describing things and such. She still struggles with dialogue, in my humble opinion, but the writing has definitely improved, and I was really happy to see that.
THE ENDING
Oh my God. This made the book for me. I thought it would be this predictable little thing, but then Anna really surprised me and I was absolutely thrilled. The ending was completely perfect. I could not have done it better myself. She completely threw me off in a good way, but I was so impressed! The ending made the next book worth reading for me. It's the kind of ending that didn't leave me feeling cheated, but satisfied. Excellently done! The ending was the thing that ensured that I will be reading the next book. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it!
WRAPUP
Would I recommend this? Well. I would actually recommend Once, but I have a problem with recommending Eve, the first book. Still, I think that Once is worth reading. I know that I'll be reading the next book in the series, and I should have more to tell you then. Anyway, I think it's worth checking this one out! And who knows? Maybe you could even read it without reading Eve first.

Eve: REVIEW
I wanted to like this book. Obviously, I do not read books that I know I am going to hate. Unfortunately, I struggled with this one. I didn't hate it, but I didn't necessarily like it either. It was definitely an interesting read, but probably not one I'd repeat.
THE HEROINE
EVE
I really didn't like Eve. She's somewhat of a brat and incredibly annoying. more than once I felt the urge to smack her across the face. What was her problem? I seriously do not understand how someone can be so ridiculous and improbably irritating. There wasn't much to like about her and she was one of the most disconnected heroines I've ever read about. There was pretty much nothing to admire about her and I really really disliked her. Strongly. Unfortunately, with a complete attitude makeover and a whole new set of values and such, I probably would have enjoyed this book immensely more.
THE LOVE INTEREST
CALEB
Caleb was probably even more boring than Eve. I couldn't have given less of a damn what happened to him. He had pretty much no personality. I really kept hoping that he would just vanish of the face of the earth, but no such luck. I thought he was the most boring person in the universe. If I'm repeating myself, I don't care. He really was boring and that's why there's not much else to say.

I actually liked Arden. She's plucky and has something of a personality. Of course, she ended up being kind of a liar, which is inexcusable. Still, I guess it's kind of understandable. Well, anyway, she was probably the only semi-interesting character in this entire novel. Still, she could have done with some further development, although I admit that she is vastly more developed than Eve herself, which is poor characterization on Anna's part.
THE PLOT
Yikes. They call this thing a plot.
The plot of this book was pretty nonexistent.
It involves Eve on the run. Constantly. Which would be cool if there was anything interesting going on, except that there is nothing interesting going on.
Instead, it's really boring.
There were so many times where I was tempted to throw my ereader and be like, "Something happen already, dammit!"
Unfortunately, nothing ever happened.
It was also pretty predictable and even repetitive. The same things seemed to happen over and over and I was tempted to roll my eyes more than once.
THE ROMANCE
Oh my goodness. Instalove from a chick who knows absolutely nothing about love. Jeez, there is no romantic development whatsoever. Eve goes from hating Caleb to loving him in what seems to me to be a week at most, give or take a day or two. It's absolutely terrifying. I understand that she doesn't really seem to understand what love is, but that's still no excuse for the ridiculousness of the speedy romantic development. No one goes from suspicion to love tat quickly. Okay, no one. Case in point: I felt similar to the way that Eve feels about Caleb when I first met my boyfriend, but it took me two and a half years for me to admit I loved him. Not two and a half weeks. Nothing develops that quickly.
THE WRITING
Oooh. Anna's writing isn't my favorite. For one, Eve's voice is incredibly annoying and it kind of ruined the book for me. I mean, it might have been better in third person, but it's hard to look past Eve's voice. The description is sadly lacking and the dialogue is far from sparkling. I was so angry about that. Also, it's just not very good. Still, I think that there is definitely room to improve. I do see potential.
THE ENDING
Super predictable and boring. Probably bound to happen at some point, but not the best place to end a novel because it was too predictable. Still, I guess the ending could have been worse. I mean, it wasn't ideal, but it wasn't a tragedy or anything.
WRAPUP
All in all, Eve was good enough, and I have higher hopes for Once. I think that Anna really has potential and that if the story develops more then it could really be good and I love that. I feel that Anna really can grow as an author. This book wasn't my favorite, but debut novels are tough.

Daphne and the Mysterious Girls Secret Bathroom Society: REVIEW
I really did like this book. I didn't find it spectacular, but I honestly really did enjoy it. Even if the title is a tad bit too long. The idea was unique and while I think it could have been developed further, the execution was not shabby and I really have so many good things to say about this book. It was one of the most fun books that I've read in a long time and I cannot wait to read more.
THE HEROINE
DAPHNE
I'm not sure how to feel about Daphne. On one hand, I loved that she was plucky and relatable. On the other, once she knew about magic, she had no problem using it left and right like a crutch. A dangerous and a bit ridiculous crutch. Still, she was a pretty admirable character, and I definitely liked her.
THE GIRLS
LILA
I liked Lila, although she was a bit polarizing and kind of condescending, which is never cool. I seriously had some issues with her, despite liking her. Sometimes I wanted to slap her. Still, she's a good friend, and definitely forgiving.
VIVIAN
Oh, I actually kind of liked her in some ways, although in others I didn't. She definitely has her faults, but then so do we all. Underneath he exterior, she's a really interesting person and I really found myself admiring her income ways. She's really strong, and has a good will, and I don't believe she's a bad person at heart.
THE BOYS
KYLE
Oh God, he was disgusting. He disgusted me. I completely hated him and wanted to punch him in the neck. He is exactly the type of guy I avoid and the reason why I've never dated anyone my age. High school boys tend to have low maturity levels, which Kyle is a spectacular exemplar of.
JOHN DAVID
Hmm, well, I liked him better than Kyle, which, you know, is not saying a lot. Still, he wasn't an awful character, so that gives him points in my book.
THE PLOT
I really liked the idea of this plot. It was really original and unique, and Robert had some awesome ideas.
While it was a little bit predictable, some things were completely unexpected and it kept me on my toes enough that I didn't feel cheated by the things that were predictable.
Also, the ideas and the magic were completely amazing. I loved that it was so original and unlike anything I've ever read about before.
I did think the magic was used a bit too much, as I've said before. I think it went a bit to extremes and was a bit ridiculous at some points, but overall I think it was very good.
Also, what high school has a playground? With swings?
THE ROMANCE
The romance wasn't too heavy, which was nice. Except that it involved the disgusting Kyle, which was anything but. Still, it wasn't extremely instalovey or anything, and it wasn't the main focus of the story, so that was really nice. I liked that it was a background thing so as not to draw attention away from the story.
THE WRITING
Robert has really awesome writing. It's a bit juvenile, but with time it I know it will improve. There is so much potential Everything flows so nicely and there's a lovely and slightly lyrical feel to the writing that I love. It really helped contribute to my enjoyment of the novel.
THE ENDING
I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but, well, it was actually pretty good. Even if it was kind of weird, it fit he story pretty well but left room for the beginning of new conflicts and more adventure in magic.
WRAPUP
This was a really good book and I really liked it. I definitely know that I want to read more and find out that is going to happen next! This story drew me in and I really felt potential within some of the characters. I just know that as the story develops, there will be so much more to love.

This week's WoW is going to be great. You can practically already feel the greatness, just oozing out of this post...
Now it's just starting to sound disgusting. So, anyway, without further ado, I present to you Hidden by Sophie Jordan!
Jacinda was supposed to bond with Cassian, the "prince" of their pride. But she resisted long before she fell in love with Will—a human and, worse, a hunter. When she ran away with Will, it ended in disaster, with Cassian's sister, Miram, captured. Weighed down by guilt, Jacinda knows she must rescue her to set things right. Yet to do so she will have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory.Now, this series has been incredibly up and down for me and definitely not my favorite series ever, but I am genuinely interested in seeing how everything ends and how everything plays out. I think it's fairly obvious who Jacinda will end up with, but I'm still going to cross my fingers that she doesn't.
The only way Jacinda can reach Miram is by posing as a prisoner herself, though once she assumes that disguise, things quickly spiral out of her control. As she learns more about her captors, she realizes that even if Will and Cassian can carry out their part of the plan, there's no guarantee they'll all make it out alive. But what Jacinda never could have foreseen is that escaping would be only the beginning....
Loyalties are tested and sacrifices made in the explosive conclusion to Sophie Jordan's Firelight trilogy.
Anyway, it's hard for me not to drool when looking at this cover. It is so gorgeous. I want hair that red. Actually, any red hair would do, but hair that red is even better.
So, really, I want this one very, very badly. How about you guys? How many of you have read Firelight and/or Vanish? Or even Hidden, since I know there are Hidden ARCs floating around?

Incarnate: REVIEW
I flat-out hated this book, which should be clear once you see the lowest rating that I have ever given a book. Yes, I gave this book 0.50 stars and would gladly have given it zero, except for the fact that the idea was original and awesome. I know so many people who loved this book and wrote awesome and intelligent glowing reviews. I hugely respect their opinions but that does not change the fact that this book was not for me. It was a complete and total chore just for me to finish it and I almost didn't. It has been an extremely long time since I've had such violent feelings about a book.
THE HEROINE
ANA
Oh my goodness, Ana was ridiculous. She was annoying and insipid and not a page went by where I didn't want to punch her in the face. Hard. I seriously disliked her and would have been satisfied if she had never, ever been born. I absolutely hated her and could not for the life of my figure out why anyone would like her. I'm sorry, but I'm just being honest. She was stupid and got on my nerves more than once.
THE LOVE INTEREST
SAM
Oh my goodness gracious, can y'all say cliché for me, please? No one is this perfect and yet this ridiculous at the same time. There is no such thing as a perfect person, mmm, Jodi? And yet for every single one of his faults, Sam seemed to have a million good things to speak of. I didn't like him at all. He was also extremely annoying and insipid and moreover, dull.
THE FRIEND
STEF
Stef was the only character who was semi-decent and somewhat likable, not to say that I liked her. She was okay. But when compared to Ana and Sam, she was the most interesting freaking person in the whole entire universe.
THE PLOT
I can pretty much sum this up in one word: predictable.
It was painfully obvious what was going to happen before it actually happened. I could have told you exactly how this book was going to end just a few pages in.
Which is just sad, people. I should not know how a book is going to end after only beginning it.
I concede that the idea which fueled this novel is, quite simply, brilliant, and that is what drew me in in the first place. Unfortunately, the execution is awful.
THE ROMANCE
Ah, instalove at its finest. The best part (please note my sarcasm) is that there's also no chemistry. Sam and Ana's relationship is so damn boring. Nothing of remote interest ever happens and frankly, it's laughable. They were completely inane together but at the same time I wouldn't wish them on anyone else. They deserve each other, but it's still insane how much quickly they supposedly fall in love. Oh, sweet old instalove.
THE WRITING
Jodi's writing was not my favorite. Granted, I didn't like Ana's voice, and it might have been better in third person or something. Still, something of every character is the author and perhaps Jodi's writing just wasn't for me. I couldn't stand Ana's voice and there was so much unnecessary dialogue and none of it was even vaguely entertaining.
THE ENDING
Oh boy, I could see this one coming, much like I said earlier. I could not believe that so much of it was treated like this huge revelation when none of it was a revelation. It was so obvious how everything was going to end that I could not believe I was not supposed to know. It was stupid and it was way, way, way too clean.
WRAPUP
Oh, I will most definitely not be reading Asunder unless I can get it for free and I have literally absolutely nothing better to do, which is highly unlikely. Plus, I already knowing how this is going to end. I don't have to know more about the story to know that. In fact, I will probably never read any of Jodi's books. I hate being angry and negative and no doubt reading more of her books will make me angry and negative.
